"Speed Dating" for Mentors and Mentees

Location: Westcliff

This will be a fun, interactive session where we connect those seeking mentorship with as many potential mentors as feasible in an organized and orderly fashion in a short amount of time* *Who are we kidding? it will be loud and chaotic and fun for all... but we will make sure that mentees and mentors meet and mingle in the organized style of ?speed dating.? We will line up with mentors and mentees facing each other, and you will have 3 minutes to talk to each person. At the end of time, we will ring a bell and have the mentees take a step to the side to meet the next person in line. There will be some instructions up front, attendees will self-identify as mentor or mentee and have some time to prepare what they want to say. We will organize into our lines and then let the chaos ensue! Note: This isn?t intended to be ?speed mentoring? in that the goal isn?t to get quick advice. This is to see if you can quickly meet several people who might be able to help you in your professional quests over the longer term. You will have a couple of days at the conference to ?vet? them as a mentor, and however long you agree to after that to benefit from their experience and knowledge.
